Supporting Education is one of our main objectives here at The Farm School, and learning opportunities are embedded in everything we do.
We aim to work closely with education providers to create bespoke programmes for learners who visit. We work towards an achievement that can be built upon and therefore plan this around a 6-week course. Over this time, we will get to know the individuals within the group and ensure that each is working towards personal goals to secure their achievement.
By providing contextualised learning, we hope to improve functioning within the school setting by improving focus, engagement and ultimately; behaviour.
Links to the National Curriculum will be naturally embedded in farm-based activities, below are just a few examples;
Listening to and following instructions
Reading and recording information
Using descriptive language
Understanding and using a variety of terminology
Using fractions, percentages and ratio
Estimating and measuring
Collating and analysing data
Understanding the seasons
Animal classifications
Animal habitats
Plant and animal biology
After school Clubs
